Done!

Ok I joined a planner swap on Chris's website and after a few weeks of staring at them I have finally finished them up. I will be packaging and mailing them out tomorrow. I think perhaps I will give my Daughter-in-Law the calendar for Christmas. She was going crazy when she saw it and aksed me to make her one so I will go ahead and give her my completed one for Christmas. I am getting ready to scrap my Fall pictures and what ever else I have to do and hopefully get back into the groove. I just am not into scrapping right now, but I need to get some stuff worked on for Chris' DT duties.

K&C Company and Tim Coffey

OMG! I haven't been this excited in a long time about a new line of papers. I just went shopping at JoAnn Fabrics for some paint for a special project I am working on and decided to browse the Paper Packs. Well I had a paper pack of the Indian Summer DCWV collection that was the die cut Patterened Paper sheets, when I stumbled across a whole huge display of new paper from K&C Company. I fell in love. I couldn't decide and I had a 40% off coupon so I picked up the Fall Collection and the Halloween Collection as well as a pack of matching double sided Die cuts and a 3-D sticker pack. I just opened those packs a few minutes ago and was floored at the colors, textures, and patterns on all of the paper, and the Die Cuts had 2 of each for a total of 170! Wow. I am just so excited. If these new papers can't get me in the mood to scrap again I do not know what will. The papers are heavy double sided and wow are they textured. There is glitter, embossing, and several other textures on them. I am just amazed at the quality and value of what I bought today. I took a few pictures but they do not do the items justice. These I hope will get me to want to do more this Fall/Halloween and actually scrap what I do take pics of. I am so eager to give these a try. Makes me wish I had something Fallish to scrap!

Cards and Wall Art.

Well I decided last night to create a Halloween Card for my friend Tammy who loves Halloween as much as I do. I don't normally do the whole Halloween card thing, but I found a cute template at http://www.papercraftmag.com/ and thought, What the Heck. It was simple yet allowed for my own twist to the card.
This is the front of the card. I used my Silhouette to cut the Ghosts, scalloped circle and Circle out.

The inside of the card is a template that you can download for free from Papercraftmag.com. I just printed it out in the size I I needed then cut it out using a pair of scissors.

Patterened Paper: DCWV Fall Stack 2008, Black Cardstock: Cored'nation Hocus Pocus Collection, White Cardstock:Georgia Pacific, nailheads:unknown, Ribbon:Unknown, Orange Glitter: Doodlebug, Lily White Glitter: Doodlebug, Onyx Glitter: Martha Stewart, Peridot Glitter: Martha Stewart, Black Gold Glimmer Mist:Tattered Angels, Scalloped Circle, Ghosts, Circle: QK Silhoutte Files, "Happy Halloween" Spellbound Sticker:Making Memories. This was my other project I worked on last week. I took the plunge and decided to put some vinyl wall art on my scraproom wall. Now I love fairies and QK came out with some awesome files in the past few weeks. The Phrase was one that they had put out earlier in the year for the Silhouette and then the Fairies and Mushrooms came a little later. I decided to combine the 3 and create my wall art. This is how it looks cut out with the vinyl. I felt it was a little too plain so I decided to spruce it up a bit with some color. This is the final result...

Well Allie goes back to school in a few days so I am hoping to get some scrapping started. I have a lot of pictures to scrap or at least attempt to scrap. I am enjoyin gthe card making, so I may even start Christmas Cards and hand make them this year. I would think they would be quick and easy this year with all the files that QK is putting out and all of the Card templates that you can find online, I think I could do these in no time. Well Have a good day and I will hopefully have more to post on Wednesday.

Getting My Room Ready To Go!

Allie starts school on Wednesday, and I decided to get my room ready for my first unintterupted day of scrapping in a very long time. I am planning to start with my car layout and then move on to the wedding of Will and Renee. If that doesn't work I have Zoo pics to scrap. I am planning on posting some layouts as soon as possible. I took the plunge and created a vinyl wall decoration in my scraproom above Allie's computer. I used black vinyl and then layered colored cardstock on top of it to make it look like it was 3-D and had shadows. I will post a pic as soon as I download them from my camera. I am planning a crop for October 24th. It will be a Halloween get together with Fall foods and decorations. I am looking forward to it, and the invitations are made and being sent out. Well I am off of here. I am headed to Marthastewart.com for some Halloween decor ideas. She has some really easy to do things on her site that at that little extra to your decorations. Have a good day and hope to see you soon!

A New View!

Well everyone it has been a while, but I haven't had that creative drive to scrapbook in a long while. I have started with something small like a tag swap on Visual Designs By Chris's website. I have 2 more tags to finish up which is on my agenda for tomorrow. I am home bound as Dear Hubby's van is in need of repair so he is taking my car to work. We went car shopping yesterday and came home with a Saturn Vue. I love it. I love driving it and I never imagined that I would enjoy sitting up high again. For about 17 years I have rode low to the ground in my Saturns and then yesterday afternoon I get the car I have been wanting for several years. The ride is smooth and quiet and it has every bell and whistle you can possibly put on a car. All except for the DVD player but Allie has a portable one that has a place to hook it up. I love the sunroof. It is wonderful to look up and see the sky and feel the wind and sun on your face. I drove it for the first time to work last night and then ran errands today. I am in love with my car and I can't wait to scrap it. I already have the title bouncing around in my head, I just need to get more pictures and I will have my first layout that I am eager to do int hepast month or so. Well need to get going. I want to head to bed at a descent hour tonight. Have a good one and I will be posting htat layout soon.

Long Time No See!

Hey everyone!

Sorry it has been so long, but I plan on getting out to my scraproom soon. I am aiming for Thursday or Friday. I will have to see what time I get up tomorrow to do my shopping. I am starting a canvas of my Son's wedding that I am going to give them as a gift, and I also need to get my tags completed for the tag swap over at Chris Durnan's Cutter File Forum. Head on over there for some fun. There is always something going on like Sketch Challenges, Bingo, Cutter Fle Challenges. Stop on by and have Fun! Well I am off to get ready for work. Have a good day!

Layout Number One

This is a layout that I just finished up of pre wedding photos of my daughter. The day was perfect and the lighting outside was perfect as well. I cried when I saw her come down the aisle because she looked so grown-up in her gown. I will treasure this day forever.

Working on a layout

Hi everyone. This will be a quick post. I have to head out to work in a few minutes. I have a gorgeous 5x7 of Allie from the wedding that I am currently working on a layout for. I am using Inspired Blueprints June sketch for this layout. So far it is coming along great. I was waiting on a cutter file from Chris Durnan, and it arrived today. I will be hopefully finishing it up this weekend. I have to see what the weekend holds by way of quiet time. Allie's last day of school was today, so starting tomorrow she is with me all day, and I do have Chloe a few days a week as well, so if Allie will play on the computer or watch tv a few days a week then I can get some scrapping done. We are going to do some hiking tomorrow if the weather cooperates. I need to get some things at the store for a "Picnic" while we hike, and then it should be a few hours of fun in the woods. Not to mention some camera time with my favorite baby girl. She is so at home in the woods. She is a true nature lover and loves to look up close and personal at everything. So have a wonderful rest of this gorgeous day, and I will post more later. Hopefully that will include hiking pics, or a layout or two from the wedding.

It's Over

Sorry I am just now posting to here, but Sunday I began to get sick, and I am trying to deal with that nice little flu. No it's not the swine flu. Mine is all in my chest. Once I can get it out of there I am good to go. I spent most of Tuesday on the couch and let Dean do all the work for me. That was nice. So I ended up not being the primary photographer. I am miffed though. Everytime I tried to get a shot that I wanted the big fat blob would get in the way. And I am being nice there. Everytime I found a photo op she would run over and get in the way. She wasn't even a professional. If she was she would not have taken half the shot that she did, and she would have taken the bridal party outside in the goreous sunshine to take the pics. I feel bad for Renee' because here wedding photos are going to be crappy. But I am also going to be somewhat mean here and not allow her any of mine. Why woulod I do that you ask, well she and William have ben bugging me for a year to do their wedding. She told me that she trusted me to take the pics that she wanted. She told me the othe girl was there for the photos that I were in. Well pretty funny when I get there and this girl is all over the place and not allowing me to take any shots. So the pics that I have are mine, and I really am not going to allow her any. She should have laid out the ground rules for us when we got there. Instead she let the other girl do what she wanted. I was at one point trying to get a pic of my daughter, and the only shot I got was her Fat A- - !! I may give that one to Renee' and thank her for not setting down ground rules. Why beg me up until the night before and then have the other girl be primary and take all the pics? But whatever. I am going to be a B----! Ok enough venting. Here are some pics from the big day...

Rehearsal

Well rehearsal is past us and the wedding is today. Allie is going to be great as long as she doesn't freeze up. Chloe on the otherhand could be a problem. She refused to walk down the aisle with Allie, but instead she ran back to Renee'. We are going to try it again but if she acts up then Angela will just take her and hold her during the ceremony and Allie will be the only flower girl. Allie spent the night with Judie and she is getting her ready. That will be a nice relief for me. I still have no idea what I am doing with my hair yet. Everyone thinks that I should wear it down. I will practice with it today once the cholesterol treatment is done. Hopefully I can figure something out. Here are few pics from the rehearsal...

It's Crunch Time!

Hello everyone. It's Wednesday. Mid way through a very hectic week. Tonight is my last night of work and then it is full wedding preparation mode time. I have nails and hair on Thursday as well as my regular Thursday duties. Friday is the Bear Picnic at my daughter's school in the afternoon and then the Evening is Rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. The wedding is Staturday in the late afternoon, so the day will be spent trying to figure out my hair and my daughter's hair. My stepdaughter is coming over to do my daughter's so that is one less thing to stress about. My dress fits great. We were worried aobut needing a certain undergarment, but the bodice is the perfect tightness to hold everything in place :) I just need to learn to walk in the 2 inch spikes. :) Tonight I have to see the ex-wife when I drop my daughter off with Renee and William till Dean gets done at work. I am not very excited about that, but it is something that I knew I would have to deal with since they are getting married. She lives in North Carolina and is never around so I guess this is a small price to pay to make the kids big day go smoothly. :)
I am the photographer for the big day so I have been charging batteries, cleaning lenses and packing up tripods. I will have my stuff ready, but not sure I will be ready. She apparently thinks I am an awesome photographer. I am actually not. I take hundreds of pics just to get that perfect one. I hope they like getting their pics taken. :) So I am off of here for now. I have to work tonight and I have a few things to get together before I leave. I am letting a friend borrow a dvd collection of mine, and he may be in tonight where I work to pick it up so I want to get it packed away before I forget.
Have a good week and weekend. I will post some pics of the big day in Sunday.

I will be gone for awhile.

As mnay of you who travel to my blog have read, my son gets married on Saturday the 23rd, and this week will be very busy. From manicures to rehearsal dinner to wedding, to the wedding to the day after to recover. I won't be scrapping this week unless I get a few minutes pf peace from the madness. I am currently charging my batteries for the camera. I need to be ready to go for Friday night and Saturday afternoon and evening. So I am off of here since I have to work tonight. Hope all of you have a wonderful week, and I will post some pics from the big day next weekend.

Sorry I haven't been around.

I can honestly say I am officially a World of Warcraft addict. I spend most of my spare time either playing that game, or scrapbooking, but scrapbooking seems to be losing to it right now. I am hoping that once the wedding is over and I have a ton of wedding pics to edit and scrapbook, I can just play WOW after work. School will be ending soon, so I will have Allie during the days as well, and I want to keep her on as close to school schedule as possible. By doing that it shouldn't be so hard int eh fall, and she tends to do better on a schedule. I plan on taking her hiking and getting her outside to play more as well this year. She has a ton of baby fat to get rid of as do I. :) Dean and Allie bought me a new Jade plant and a flat of flowers for mother's day. It was nice. I needed some flowers, and I miss the Jade tree that died a few months ago. He also bought himself some tomatoes to use in that Topsy Turvy planter that they advertise on tv. He got one for Christmas from his parents. I am ableto meet up on WOW with a friend whom I can't see on a regular basis but who plays in the evenings when he gets off work at 12:00am like me. We spent 2 hours talking Saturday Night. I am looking forward to chatting with him some more. We got caught up on what we have missed in each others' lives for the past 8 or 9 months. It really was nice. I may play some when I get home tonight. I will have to see how awake I am. Tomorrow I am hoping to scrapbook as they shut WOW down for most of the day to do upgrades and maintenance on it. It stinks when you really want to play, but then it gives me the chance to do housework and scrapbook. My scrapbook room right now is a nursery. All of the plants we got on Saturday are out there until the cold weather front that we are experiencing has passed. Well I need to get off of here. I have to head to work and finish with Dean's dinner. Have a good evening and I will type more later. Hopefully I will have a layout or two to share tomorrow.

I Don't Lie I Just Embellish!

This layout was done using the file from Chris Durnan. The I Don't Lie file is available for purchase right now at her shop. The papers are from Die Cut With A View Retro Stack. The flowers are 7 Gypsies, the scrolling is Tim Holtz Grnge Board, the crackel paint is Dried Marigold Crackle Paint by Ranger Indsutries. The Berlin Ohio Die Cut was purchased at a scrapbook shop there in town. This layout is of the group of ladies that I went with in March to a weekend scrapbooking retreat in Amish Country. The weekend was filled with laughter and friendship, and lots of shopping as well. I had a wonderful time and am planning on going next year as long as I am not in Florida at that time.

National Scrapbook Day!

Happy NS Day! And of course look who is "not" creating this day. I relaxed and played some World of Warcraft before gettting ready for work and blogging. I was supposed to attend an all day crop today, but I got stuck working. Oh well. Such is life in retail. I spent yesterday with DH and researching DSLR cameras. I am eyeballing one of the newer Canon Rebel Models. I am hoping that I will be the proud owner of one in a few months. I am hoping to get it well before our Florida trip in March of 2010. Well just thought I would pop on and say Hi and wish you all a wonderful NSD!!

A Day Off From Creating...

Today I chose to go back to bed after Allie left for school. A dear friend whom I haven't spoken to in at least a month called and we talked until at least 1:00pm. (She called at 9:00am :)!) We plan aday together for this Friday. We are both off of work, and she has a lot going on and just needs someone to help her taker her mind off of things. Not sure what we will do. Dean is off as well and I know he won't say anything or be angry if I take the time to spend with her. Kelly over at My Bucket Overflowth has once again created works of art that have inspired me to make a card for my dear friend. I think that will be my project tomorrow when Allie leaves. I still need to go to the grocery store tomorrow, but I just haven't even wanted to create a grocery list. I hate making the same things over and over again. I get bored and won't even eat what I make because I am tired of the same thing every week. Dean is very picky so getting him to try something new is near impossible. Yesterday I played around with adding a playlist to my blog spot here. I added aobut 80 some songs and all are from different types of music and different eras. I am one of those people that do not care if the song is from the 80's, 20's, 50's, or the currents. If the song speaks to me and invokes a specific feeling for me, then I will download it. I have songs on there from Elvis and then from Paramore. Those two are at total opposites of the spectrum, but they invoke feelings in me and inspire. I would probably consider this a playlist for scrapbooking. So ideas are going through my head at a very rapid pace right now. Things are going to look pretty good in the future for us, and what is happening will allow us our family vacation/honeymoon (13 years later). We have a goal to take Allie to Disney World, Sea World, and the beach for her 9th birthday. The goal was looking pretty far out of reach until about 4 or 5 days ago. We received some good news that should allow us to set money aside for the much needed vacation. So with that in mind I am trying to look ahead to March of 2010, and planning her birthday celebration. I am hoping that Dinner with Shamu will be open for that week and we can celebrate her birthday then. She loves Orcas, and is really wanting to see one up close, and Dinner with Shamu will be perfect for her. We are hoping my parents will go with us and make it a family thing. We are planning on flying I think, as a few days travel time both ways in a car with my daughter would drive everyone nuts. So with hope in our hearts and hopefully money in our savings account we will be spending the first week of March 2010 in Florida. I am also seeing if Dean will allow me one small expense for myself and allow me to purchase a cutter that will do 12x12. I love the look of die cut paper, but hate paying the price for it. I want to be able to cut a 12x12 piece of cardstock or patterened paper and use it for a bkgd etc. And perhaps he will let me get some new supplies. I am hoping that we can get him a new/used car with the money as well. We have two vehicles that we will use for a trade in towards the new one, so we shouldn't have to do any financing. He wants nothing fancy just a nice car to drive. Probably wants air too. :) So looking towards the future it seems a bit brighter for us. I don't think he expected me to demand the vacation but I can't take one more vacation and not go anywhere. We neverhad a honeymoon 13 years ago and we have never gone anywhere other then Michigan for a baseball game with my parents, so I think that as a family we deserve to splurge a little and have a real vacation. So cross your fingers that all goes as planned and that March will be a bright spot in our lives. I am also planning a return to the Berlin Scrapbooking retreat in March as well. I enjoyed myself, though I didn't accomplish what I had planned, but it was nice to just spend time with my friends and not have to cook, clean, or take care of my daughter or grandaughter for a few days. No one screaming MOM!! It was blissful!! So I am going to sign off of here, and I will post a picture of the pick me up card that I want to get done tomorrow. Have a fabulous day and I will post more later.

Mother's Day Cards

I spent the morning creating these two cards for my Mom and my Mother-in-Law. They were easy to do and fun to create. I used Bazzil Basics Cardstock for the base then added a layer of Pistachio/Almond PP from the Two Scoops Collection by Basic Grey. Another layer of Bazzill Cardstock was added on one and then on the other a second layer of Pistachio/Almond was added. The butterfly stamp was from the Basic Grey Flutter Collection and was stamped with Black Soot Distress Ink from Ranger Industries and then embossed with fine black embossing powder. The insides were colored using Staedtler Water Color Pencils. The "Happy Mother's Day" stamp is from the Springtime Swilr Collection by See D's. The flowers are from 7 Gypsies Velvet Pink Posey collection with the center brad from the Making Memories Shimmer Brad Collection. The edges were inked using the Bazzinks by Bazzill Basics. The Sterling Glitter is from the Martha Stewart Gemstone Collection.

No I Did Not Scrap!

Well yesterday was such a beautiful day. The first we have seen since August or October. I spent the day herb gardening. I went and bought a few new herb plants and some strawberry plants and planted those as well as mulching the herb garden and then setting up the water fountain. Today I have the grandbaby so I doubt if I will scrap at all. I will probalby wait until Monday and scrap when Allie is in school. I have a lot of things to scrap, and I am eager to work on some Mother's Day cards as well. I have an order of stamps and flowers comng from Lifetime Moments. I won a GC from there from Winterscrapfest, and I bought some stamps, flowers, and a sheet of the new Wisteria Paper from Basic Grey. I think that will be lovely for cards if I decide to use it for that. NSD is next Saturday, and I requested it off, but I have a feeling I am goign to have to work it, since my request was in a few days later then what it should be. I will see if I can get someone to switch a day with me. I was wanting to go with Amy and Della to scrapbook with Donna and the ladies from the weekend crop. If I can't I can't but I hope someone will switch with me. I have so much to do scrap wise that I would love an all day cropto do it in. Well I am off of here. Just popped on while waiting for WoW to upgrade and then I am back to fighting monsters. Have a great and wonderful day!

I am scrapping today!

Ok ladies. I have one errand to run at 9:00am and then I am coming home to my scrapbook room. I want to finish my sitting pretty layout of chloe. I will post a picture when I am done. I would also like to get started on a few more layouts if not get them done as well. I won a gift card for Lifetime Moments in their winter scrapfest and I purchased a bunch of new stamps and flowers. Kelley over at My Bucket Overflowth has got me wanting to stamp more. I need to get on those Mother's Day cards as well. That may be my project for today after I get done with chloe's layout. I will have to wait and see. The weather is supposed to be near 80 today so I am going to open the windows and doors, air out the house, crank up my music and go to town scrapping! I should be starting that no later then 10:00 as the pet store opens at 9:00 and I have to run in just for Crickets for my daughters fire bellied toads, and some shells for her hermit crabs that she got for her birthday. May even surprise her with a new one, if one of them catches my eye and screams Allie at me. LOL! So I am getting off of here, and I will post everything when I get it done. Have a blessed day!!

Wish me luck!

Ok I am forcing myself tomorrow to get out to my scraproom and create. I have been lax in my DT duties for Chris Durnan and am in desperate need of some screative juices to flow, but I will force myself to get something done. I have some photos from my scrapbooking weekend that I really want to create a page for. I am hoping to use some of Chris's pretty ribbon files to create something for that page.

My Vow!

Tomorrow come Hades or High Water I will get out to the scraproom and start creating. I just received my Scrapbook Etc newsletter, and I am eager to try some of the cool die cutting ideas. There were some really interesting ideas. I have never thought about using two different colors to create a title. There was a layout in the ideas using white with the primary word in bright red. It really made the title stand out. I am always looking for new ideas to make my layouts stand out. I am one who is not afraid to try new things. I stepped out of my zone and did the watercolor pencils, and my next thing is the Copic Markers. I heard they are fabulous to work with, and the outcome of your labors is exsquisite. I am waiting for Lifetime Moments to get them in, and I will probalby place an order. I would also like to get more into stamping. I have some stamps, but nothing that works well like the ones I am seeing on all the stamp sites. I would love to invest in a nice set that I can use for cards and layouts and gift tags. I have started tossing around ideas for this weeks Twilight Tuesday Challenge. It is based on the character Jasper and he is fast becoming my favorite. I was working on journaling ideas yesterday for this challenge. Now I am heading out to my scraproom to see if I can get at least one layout for my wedding album started. Have a good one!

Waiting Patiently for Pictures!

I placed an order last Thursday for pictures on DotPhoto.com . They shipped on Monday so I am hoping they arrive soon. I would love to get scrapping again. I would like to do some layouts for the Design Team at Visual Designs by Chris. I really do need to get out there and work on my Wedding Album. It should be something easy to do, yet I have no inspiration. I think because I love to throw whatever onto my pages, I won't do that with the wedding pics. I want them to stand out, not the layouts temselves. I have Chloe the next couple of days, so I will be up at 7:00 and stay yo, so I should be able to get out there and scrap. I will be dragging butt at work in the evening, but I should get some scrapping done if the pictures do show up.

Saturday, April 11, 2009

Tag Swap!

If you are looking for some tags for all occasions head on over to Visual Designs By Chris's Forum. We are having a tag swap over there. There are a lot of great catagories, and more will be added if there is enough interest in that catagory. Hope to see everyone over there.

Another Day

Well I was hoping to get more done on my little mini album that I am creating for Twilight Tuesday Challenges, but my DSD was over here all day and I was helping her look through online sites for a dress to wear to my DSS wedding the end of May. I did get the paper adhered and trimmed to fit the album. Now I get to create. I want to distress the edges or something of the album. Not sure how well that will work as it is acrylic. Not sure the stamp inks I have will stay put or smear off. I was hoping to get this worked on today, but I got up and caught up on Harper's Island that we DVR'd last night. Then I decided to call a friend to vent about something and then I worked on fried chicken for dinner. So my plans to work on my challenge album fell through. I am really aiming for Monday now. I think I am off and Dean works so Allie and I can head out to the scraproom and get creative. Well gotta go I think I am heading to the clothing store to look for shoes for allie. Have a good one.

Twilight Tuesday Challenges

I decided to join up. I know it is way to late in the challenges, but I think it is a good idea and will give me a creative outlet when I have nothing to scrap. So I started my 6x6 acrylic album that was sitting here. I bought it because I wanted to use it, but I was never sure what to do with it, so I am going to create a little Twilight album with some of the challenges in there. The first challenge I think I am doing is the What Team Are You challenge? Jacob, Edward, or Switzerland. I am also going to do my favorite quote challenge, and a few others. I think it will be fun, and it will give me a creative outlet for my Twilight obscession. :). So I got the paper attached to the pages, now it is just time to start creating. I will probably start that tomorrow. I will post it when I get the first challenge I want to do done.

My Day To Create!

My parents are coming up today to fit Allie and I for our wedding dresses. After they are done Allie is leaving with them to spend the night at their house. I am going to run to the grocery store and then I am going to create!! I decided to joing the Twilight Tuesday blog where every Tuesday they give you a prompt to create using something Twilight related. This will be my creative outlet until I can get some mojo going for the wedding album I am working on. There is also another project where you photograph things that you are doing or things that you see in your daily life in one day. Then you do a scrapbook layout with those photos for that day. I am thinking about jumping in and giving it a go. This sound like fun as well. So today I am going to start off today with the Twilight Tuesday Challenge. I will post my finished project when I get it done. Until then have a good day and happy creating!

I am in need of some creative sparks!

I would love to get out to my scraproom and scrap this coming week. Unfortunately I just have no creative drive right now. I like to work on swaps as a way to have a creative idea and outlet, but I am all done with the swap that I am in. I was just browsing the Twilight Swap at Scrapbook.com and wished now that I had not dropped out of it. I was so busy at the time when I signed up I didn't think I could do my creative best, so I dropped that and another swap. Now I wish I hadn't. The cards that the ladies are creating for the ATC are just fabulous! Oh well. Serves me right to panic and think that I couldn't do my best for these. How could I not. I love Twilight. Can't imagine not doing my best. I still need to work on my wedding album. I can do the single photo layouts, but those multi phot layouts are stumping me. I think I am in a multi photo layout rut. :( I used to be ale to only do multi photo two page layouts, but I have seen doing so many single page layouts that am finding it hard to switch back to the mulit photos. I did mange to do the singel page mulit photo layout in the previous post with no problem. The sketch was awesome and it really helped me to get creative.
I have volunteered to hostess swaps at Chris Durnan's Creative Forum. See the link to the right. I am hoping that people will post some swap ideas, and I will organize them and hostess them. This takes the pressure off of someone who is unsure of how to hostess, but wants to swap. I am heading over there now to post some ideas. Hopefully we will get some takers. Well I am off of here for now. Hopefully I can get some scrapping done this week to post on here. have a good rest of the weekend!

In Bloom

This layout was done using the April Sketch Challenge at Visual Designs By Chris Forum. Link is to the left. Becky Higgins is the sketch designer, and Chris Durnan designed the files for the Graft Robo etc. I used the owl file from the challenge. The owl was cut using the QK Silhouette then it was "Feathered" using the flocking from Doodlebug. The cardstock is Bazzil Basics and I believe the Patterend Paper is from DCWV. The flower is from a collection by Prima. If you want a challenge and need some inspiration head on over to the forum. Rosalie is hostessing this challenge!

Our Love

This is the layout that I was waiting for the ok to post. I used the Our Love File from Chris Durnan and it fit perfectly with this layout. Not too elegant, yet just right for this photo. The paper is from the Elegant Paper stack by DCWV.

QK!!

Wow just received the info that they created 94 new shapes and released them today!! I am able to download them all since I have the unlimited membership. That is pretty awesome. I must remember that it comes out of my checkbook. :) I am enjoyin my membership. Files that I never would have purchased because I really have no idea of what to use them on, I have downloaded, and I am actually planning layouts for them. I am in love with mushrooms and cottage, and am thinking of some ideas for a layout using those files. Perhaps a layout about my fairy garden when I get out there and get it ready for summer. Today was grocery day. I splurged, and filled the house with food. It has been so long since I have actually bought goodies and descent food for meals. I have been skimping so much lately to save money here and there, but one can't eat the same boring things over and over. We are having steak tonight with bakes potatoes and roasted veggies and apple pie and fruit salad for desert. YUMMY! I am going to attempt the steaks, but hoping Dean will take over when he gets home about 4:30. I need to start scrapping some more. Perhaps wehn Allie leaves for school tomorrow I will stay up and scrap. I need to get my room back in shape after unpacking from the weekend. I bought a case of printer paper off of a lady at work. Some guy she knows bought a storage locker at and auction and there were cases and cases of printer paper etc in there. Couldn't pass up the deal. 10 reams for 20 dollars. That is 2.00 a pack. Cosidering even walmart isn't that cheap I guess I did good. Well time to get going. I need to finish getting dinner ready. I need to start the grill and get that wamed up for the steaks. You all have a awesome evening. I will post some more layouts etc when I get them done. Have a good one!

Wedding Dress!!

Well when I got home Sunday my gown for William and Renee's wedding had arrived. Is it gorgeous. I will have to do some major altering to it. The straps are too long so the dress doesn't fit right at the bodice, and it will need shortened a little. The amount depends on the size of heel I decide to get. I am looking at 1-2" heels. Other then those few things, the dress fits perfect. I love it, and I do think I look good in it. Will look even better when the hair and make-up are done and I have the right shoes and brasier. Renee wants to see me in it today, so I have it on and I am waiting on her to come and get Chloe. I wil post a picture of it when I get a chance to try it on after the alterations are done. Hmm I may even have Mom make it strapless. :) Well I need to get going. Hope everyone is having a wonderful Tuesday. See everyone later!

OK ladies. I have some pics edited of the layouts that I worked on this weekend. Some I did when I came home, but several were done at the crop. Enjoy!

Home is where the heart is.

We got home around 3:00pm yesterday. We left Berlin around 12:00 but had to stop in at my parents' house to pick up Allie, and then we came home. I had to make dinner, and then unpack my bags so I could do laundry, and then not have such an issue when I tried to scrap and nothing was where it was supposed to go. We talked amongst outselves and determined that next year we would attend as well. Amy and I had a blast and once I got over my scrapping out of a tote bag phobia I was able to get a few things done. I also was afraid to break out the glitter because it is so messy, but I did when it got really late and those around me had cleared out. I was able to spread out more and loosen up. I do think I make take head phones next year so I can turn my music up and not have to listen to other people's music. I will post pics as soon as I look through the ones I took and get them up here. Have a good day, and will post more when I have time. A few of the layouts I can not post because of the DT. But I will post them when I get the ok from Chris Durnan.

We are here!

We arrived in Berlin about 2:00 friday afternoon and we wandered around from store to store. This place is adorable, and really a fun place to be. There are just so many tiny shops and country stores that you can't really get to them in one day. We found a really cute shop that sold nostalgic items such as vintage Halloween objects and then old antique signs and magnets. Amy and I had a blast and she bought a lot of things. I found an Orca box with and Orca necklace inside. Will Allie be in heaven when she get that Sunday. We found a nice little scrapbook store called the Scrapbook Nook and they had BAZZILL!! Man was I excited. I spent about 12.00 there getting some Bling for my wedding layouts. Had an idea to cut the floral boutque out of the bling instead of using the very messy glitter. I did end up using it on my last layout that I created today. It was called "All about the cake", and was the pictured of the b-day cake and Allie blowing out the candles. I used lots of glitter and tried not to be messy, but in the end the glitter WON!! Oh well that's the way it is. I am anxious to get home. I am having a good time, but I am just not feeling the scrapping this weekend. I think I am feeling enclosed, limited, stunted on my creativity. Usually I have a 6 foot table all to myself, and a fully stocked and organised room to roam and do what I want. Here I have about 4 foot of space and my supplies are in a rolling tote at my feet. I have no view of the items as I am working. It makes it harder when you don't have the room to move out. I usually have tons of things pulled out and lying around on the table to test on a layout. Oh well. I did manage to get 3 wedding layouts done, one Chloe layout done and Allie's two page birthday cake layout done. I didn't accomplish nearly what I wanted, but at least I got the wedding album started. That was my big worry. I bought everything to work on it, and I am using some awesome files from Chris Durnan, and I needed to get them started and done. Amy and I had to go to Millersburg several miles down the road to get a cell phone signal so I could call my daughter and husband. We went to Walmart to pick up Amy's photos and while there I bought a really cool keychain that has the Cullen Family Crest and the name Cullen. It is a sturdy metal, and it is my compensation for not getting Twilight yesterday. I will probably get is Wednesday Night when I go to work. Right now I am listening to Reba McIntire and relaxing. I need to attach a couple photos to the cake layout and then I am done. I may go ahead and pack everything up tonight, that way I will be ready to go tomorrow. Amy and I are going to stay up for breakfast, and then sleep for a few hours. So, I doubt if I will get anything done tomorrow/today. Well I am getting off of here for now. Have a good Sunday.

Out of here until Monday.

Well ladies, I am out of here until Monday at the earliest. I am all packed and ready to head on out around noon on Friday. I work until midnight tonight and then I have to grab a few hours of sleep before I get Allie up at 7:00. After that depending on what time Amy is coming to pick me up, I may go back to bed for a few hours. All I need to pack yet is my toiletries tomorrow. I am getting so excited. I really need this weekend away from everyone. Amy and I are headed to a Twilight Movie release party at 11:00 tomorrow night. I probably will wait until I get back home and get it at work. I would get the fuel perks for it if I did wait. So I think I will. If I want to catch a peek at it Amy will have it and we have our laptops to watch it on. So all that is left for me is to get through 4 hours with Chloe, and 8 hours of work. That should be easy. I hope. I work with Cindy tonight, and I need to talk to her about my coordinating job. I am hoping that she is still wanting to use me. But oh well that is something to worry about at 4:00 not at 9:00 am. LOL! Well I need to get going. You all have a wonderful weekend, and I will post pictures when I can!!

2 days to go!

Well yesterday I had CPR training all morning. Today I have to work from 4-12am. Grocery day and watching Chloe is tomorrow, and then Friday is the day!!! Allie is getting so excited for her sleep over with Renee and Chloe, and then getting to sleep over at Papa's house and see Uncle Stephen and Aunt Debbie. They have her blanket and coffee mug, and a 10 gallon aquarium for her 5 new hermit crabs that she got for her birthday from my parents and us. It will be nice to have them all in one tank with lots of room to move, and I can actually set the tank up the way it should be. They can have two swimming bowls and two food bowls if need be, but there will be plenty more room for them. Allie wanted me to start packing her suitcase, so I did that this morning. Her clothes are ready to go as well as her movies. I just need to pack her brothers and sisters in the morning on Friday and then she will be ready to go. I have everything packed but my toothbrush and makeup. I am goign to work on cleaning the house today before I go to work. I would like it somewhat clean when I come home on Sunday. Well going to go. I will post more later. have a good day!

Baby Card.

Chloe took her 8:00 am nap today just as she does everyday that I have her, and I was able to get Megan's baby shower card done. I love how it turned out. I used Crate Paper patterend Paper and ric rac from the Brunch Collection. The cardstock is from Bazzil and the water colored pencils are from Staedler. This is the first time that I have really sat down and worked with the water color pencils since I bought them back in early February. I used the It's A Boy Stamp from the SeeD's Vintage Baby Collection, and then the fairy picture is from the Faeries Book. It is a collection of templates of various fairies and fairy things that you can scan and reproduce as often as you like. This is the first time I have used the book for anything but browsing. :) http://www.amazon.com/Crafters-Design-Library-Fairies/dp/0715327151/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1237211015&sr=1-2
I am hoping to use more of them for other cards in the coming months. I should look for the perfect one for a wedding card, and then mother's day and then perhaps Christmas cards for this year. Well enjoy. I am off to watch Noggin with Chloe and relax for awhile. I get to work tonight 6-12. I don't have a day off until I leave for Berlin on Friday.

Relaxing Sunday!

Today was a day to relax. I am off work today, and wanted to think about making a baby card to go with my gift for the lady who is having a baby at work. I tried my stamps, but not sure I like how the stamp looks. I may use the Fairies template book that I have and make a card using one of the templates. I was thinking of something along the lines of a prince on the front and the sentiment something like Congratulations on the birth of your little Prince. I will have to play around with it a bit. I am thinking of starting my idea tomorrow. I will have to see how things go. I have Chloe tomorrow from 6:30 to 2:00 so if I can find time in between taking care of her and her little meltdowns, I should be able to get something going. The weather is lovely today. The sun is shining and the chill in the air is almost gone. I know that this probably won't last, but it is nice to feel the warmth of the sun on my face as I sit here in the livingroom watching tv and talking to Dean. Well I downloaded the last of the QK Silhouette files from the website. I joined up using the half off deal for the unlimited downloaded for a year. I downloaded all of the files. I may have a use for them I may not, but might as well get my moneys worth out of it. I downloaded all of the new releases the other day. I love the new shapes. There are a ton of cute ones, and I will I'm sure use alot of them. I am counting the remaining days down before I head off to Berlin. I think we leave around 12:00 on Friday afternoon. I can't wait. I am looking forward to it. Well time to get off of here. I have a few things that I want to get done on here before I head up to bed.

It's done!

Well as I previously posted I was going to paint the bins in the embellishment containers that my Grandpa had made. I painted the tins the various colors of what would be in there. I am going to organise my buttons, brads, eyelets, and photo turns when I get back from the crop next week. I am waiting for the bins to dry and I may put another coat of paint on them tomorrow after I see how well they dry. I started rearranging everything again as well. I would like more things to be in view. I would like to use more things on layouts, and I only remember I have them after the fact. I really love the glitter spice rack that I did today. I am hoping to find another spice rack somewhere. I will hit the flea markets when I have some extra spending money. Well tiem to get off of here. Dean and I are watching Friday the 13th part 3 in 3-D. Yea!! Happy Friday the 13th!

Organizing and Relaxing!

Wow!! Exactly one week from this day I will be in Berlin Ohio scrapping the weekend away with my friends, and getting away from household chores and duties. Allie will be heading to Renee's house for a Friday night sleepover and then Saturday my parents will pick her up for a sleepover there and a visit with my brother and his wife. They bought her an Orca blanket and stainless steel orca mug with her name on it for her birthday and it didn't arrive in time so they asked that my Dad bring her down so they could see her open the presents there. She is also getting a 10 gallon aquarium for her 5 hermit crabs that she got for her birthday. Right now they are in seperate containers and I know they would love more room. Right now I am reorganizing my scraproom since everything is packed up. Gives me a chance to move a few things around. I emptied an old spice rack of it's spices and am now using it for my "spices" which consist of all of my Martha Stewart glitter and doodlebug glitter and flocking. I think it looks rather cute, and I am eyeballing the other spice rack as well, but those jars need emptied of their contents and that won't be happening anytime soon. Perhaps I can go to the flea market and see if I can find an old spice rack with the emptied jars to work for my embellishments instead of the containers that I have. I like the container that my grandpa made, but I can't see the color of the embellishment unless I pull the container out. I may have to paint them just so I have an idea of what color things are. That would be a good project for me since I am in the painting mood, and painting every wooden container I have. hmm. just maybe..

I am all ready to go!

My pictures arrived today from the wedding that I reordered and had enlarged. I have them all marked ont he back as to what page they go in, and I have them packed up. Everything else but my clothes and toiletries are packed, and those I will do next Friday morning. Today I did a quick clean up of my scraproom. I threw some junk away and swept. Everything that I am not taking is in its spot, and my room is the way I want it. When I come home it should only take me an hour or so to put everything away. Yea! Yesterday was my first day back to work. It was nice to get away from everyone here. I got to catch up on everything, and see everyone. I have today off. Weird. Work one day and then off again, but I work the next two and then I have Thursday-Saturday off. Next Tuesday I have to attend CPR training. My certificate is up in May so they are sending me next week to renew it. I am hoping to have a few more hours next week then I do this week. I hate not having a nice paycheck. No extra spending money for the retreat. Oh well off I go. I need to get dinner ready. dean will be home in about an hour. Have a good week!

Jayden

This is the baby shower gift that I am giving to a lady whom I work with. I used all the Quikutz files for this project. The letters are from Darice and the rest is stickles, and tattered angels glimmer mist. I think it needs something yet, but I am not sure what it is.

Scrapping Done!

Well I am all done working on layouts and swap items. I have packed and repacked my bags for the weekend crop. I will be heading out of here in a little less then two weeks. I think in the mean time I will sketch out some ideas for the wedding album when the pics come next week. I am looking forward to this weekend away. I know I keep saying it, but you gotta understand.... A weekend away from everyone and no kids wanting to "help" me scrap. Amy and I are probably going to take a late night break on friday and head over to Walmart to hang out with the teenage girls to get our copies of "Twilight". I have managed to condense an entire room into one rolling tote, laptop case, Archivers tote, and my clothes bag/Silhouette bag. It is the most padded thing that I have and that I am willing to carry my Silhouette in, but I may change my mind and not take that bag, but find some other way to carry the Silhouette. I just have to pack up my few clothing items and toiletries, and my beverage of chose and I will be ready to go when Amy gets here at 12:00 on the 20th. I am going to miss Dean and Allie, but I think a weekend away will be just what the Doctor ordered for everyone. Dean has to work most of that weekend so he won't even know I am gone. ROFLOL!! Renee' is taking Allie for a Girl's Night Slumber Party on Friday of that weekend and then my parents are taking her on Saturday then Amy and I will swing over in their direction to pick her up on Sunday evening. Well I just got my schedule for next week, and it is going to be an easy one. I work 3 days and that is it, but it is not good on the wallet. My check buys groceries and pays for my laptop. But it is supposed to only last about another month and then we should be getting our hours back. Let's hope that it will pick up soon. This economy is pretty lousy. Well as least I have the retreat to look forward to so I can at least have a weekend without worries. :)

Some Projects Completed Today!

Well last night I finished more sea life puzzles and this morning I went and purchased poster board for the backs of the puzzles. I have one hung up on her door, and two more drying with a third already done just needs hung up. My bags are packed for the weekend crop I am attending this month. I will be trying to get some swap items done before I go. I think I may work on those tomorrow after I head to the store. Gotta love grocery day. My photos were shipped today. I am pretty excited. That means they should be here by the middle of next week at the latest. That's good. I will be able to get things finalised for the trip. I got one layout done today. It was titled My Funny Valentine. I did get two of my creative journal layouts done for the challenge. I am all caught up again, and I am at 62 points I think for Winter Scrapfest. I may break 200 this month. :) I am hoping to get a ton of points with my wedding album. I get a minimum of 15 points per layout for each one that I do, not to mention things added on to it like ribbon, buttons, eyelets, brads, pp, etc.

Day three of vacation

Well today is the 3rd day of my vacation. I haven't gotten much accomplished this week so far. I did spend Monday working on a puzzle that has been sitting here begging to be finished. I am going to mod podge it and hang it on Allie's wall. It is called A Mother's Love by Christian Riese lasson. It is of a mother and a baby dolphin. My daughter is obcessed with anything related to the see especially Killer Whales, so we are going to hang that up ans the 10 other sea life puzzles she got. Her room will look like the sea yet if she has any say so about it. I did put the finishing touches on my Snow Princess layout today and will upload that to Chris Durnan's blog and I worked on week 8 of the creative journal challenge on Lifetime Moments. I also joined the QK Silhouette unlimited download membership for their cutting files today. I have downloaded about 280 today so far and am going to work on downloading more today as well. Well have a good rest of your Tuesday and I will be scrapping away tomorrow. That is my plan for the day. I have Chloe from 11-2 so it shouldn't be too bad of a day o work on my scrap room.

Glad It's Over!!

My baby girl turns 8 on the 6th of this month so we had a party today. After working until 11:00 last night and staying up till about 1:00 to unwind, I was back up at about 8:30 to start getting ready. I was still trying to get things together at 1:00 when everyone started showing up. We had an Orca (Killer Whale) Party. She got a lot of things today. She got about 8 - 10 outfits, a large floor dinosaur puzzle, a 10 pack of sea life puzzles 100-500 pieces each, a new stuffed Orca, Wonder Pets toys, Bratz Doll, two new hermit crabs. She named these two who are twins Weenie and Oswald, and a orca cup and blanket with her name on it. We are waiting for those to arrive at my brother's house. Shipping was taking longer then expected I guess. We got her 4- 5 foot wall decorations of Orcas and dolphins, her new computer, an animitronic polar bear, 3 hermit crabs, and the Blue Lion action figure from the 80's cartoon Voltron, which she loves to watch. We have all 5 seasons of the original on DVD. All in all she made a killing today, and she had a really great time. I have all the pics uploaded to Dotphoto already and the order is placed. I want to make sure that I have my wedding pics for the album here before the 20th when I head to Berlin Ohio for a weekend of fun, and scrapping. I am getting quite excited, and it is only about 19 days away. I will post more later this week. I am on vacation and I am going to get some pics of Chloe scrapped that Renee gave me a few days ago. Well have a good rest of the weekend!!

Crippled again!

I think I need to learn to walk all over again. 6 years ago I sprained my right ankle quite well, and had problems for about a month after that. Yesterday I had the grand daughter and daughter all day, so when Allie wanted to go upstairs to use the bath room I walked over to take the baby gate down, turned around, and promptly stepped on a toy that grand daughter had thrown there earlier. My left foot curled sideways in the opposite direction of my leg, and I heard a distinct crack and a loud pop. I went down to the floor in pain immediatley and couldn't stand up again with out screaming pain shooting through my left foot. So needless to say, I am unable to walk on my left food, and I had to call off work, which is bad because I haven't been feeling 100% healthy and have called off way too much in the past several months. I know my manager is very upset with me, and I just called and apologised to her about yesterday and told her I would be in today, but there is now way I was going to be 100% and able to move quickly which my job entails. So luckily I have an awesome helper tonight, and she can do some of the running for me if necessary. Well Chris Durnan is designing some awesome wedding files for me to use in my wedding album, and I can't wait to see the finished product. Well that is all for now. I am relaxing my foot today until I have to get ready for work. You all have a fabulous day. I am off of here for now!!

Wow was this ever hard to do!!

Man I never thought that trying to decide on photos for the wedding album and what order they would go in would be so hard. I had about 140 photos to go through and decide what ones would go in the albums. Which ones I wanted converted to black and white and then resize to 5x7 as well as reordering 4x6 photos that were in the old album but had adhesive etc on them. I spent the past several hours just deciding on the pics and scanning others in to edit. My photographer gave me the negatives as a wedding gift, so I need to take them to a store and have 4 of them reprinted and resized. I will do that this week when I don't have Chloe. Probably on Wednesday, and then after the birthday party on Sunday I will edit and upload pics from the party and place one huge order on dotphoto. They will be printed and delivered hopefully by the following weekend. Dotphoto is usually pretty good about printing and shipping in about a week. I just need them to be at my door by the 19th. This is my favorite photo that was taken before the wedding. This will be printed as a 5x7 and be by itself on a page title "The Flower". The page next to it will have two 4x6 photos on it with another picture of me and a picture of Michelle and Krista holding their flowers. I can't wait to get to scrap my wedding album the right way. The papers are perfect and the embellishements will be flowers, swirls, and die cuts made using my digital cutter. I have a whole collection of Wedding Files that I am eager to use. They are just gorgeous. I am hoping that Chris Durnan has some wedding files as well because I would love to incorporate her files into my album and use those as DT projects as well. Well it's time to get off of here. I am watching the Nascar Race with Dean. Have a good rest of the weekend.

Wedding Album Project.

Well the countdown for the crop is at 26 days. I am getting excited. I have everything pretty much packed that I am going to take. I am going to do my wedding album. I had scrapped it once years ago, but it was pre embellisment and fun technique phase, and I so am wanting to do it the right way this time around. I bought a beautiful silver album with enough to do 40 pages in it, and then the metallic paper and soft floral paper packs from DCWV. The paper is gorgeous and perfect for wedding albums and formal protraits. I am going to do one half of the pages in B&W and the other half in color. The B&W will be 5x7 portraits and the rest will be 4x6 pictures in color. I am going to work on some sketches etc today while watching the race to see if I can get some ideas going for the weekend crop, and get my final picture choices made and prints reordered etc. I think this is going to be a gorgeous project when I have finished it. Well off I go. I am going to start sketching now. Have a good rest of the weekend.

Wow were we ever busy today!

Today Dean and I were off together so we decided to tackle the storage room in the basement. When we moved two years ago we never really went through every thing and purged. So today was the day. We threw out 30 boxes of junk. Man was that a lot of garbage that we didn't need. I found a lot of missing things as well. I was wondering what earrings I would wear with my gown for my sons wedding, and I came across a jelwery box full of rings and earrings that I forgot I had. The perfect pair was in there. Yea!! I can't believe I forgot I had alot of these pieces. Oh well the mind isn't what it used to be LOL!! I started packing for my weekend retreat. I am having my daughters birthday party on the first of March and I figure I might as well pack the bulk of my stuff because I am going to have to put it away for the party. We use my room and table for the food when we have parties. I don't mind. I will try to scrap, but I will just make sure I keep every thing in the case so I will be ready to go on the 20th of March. Amy and I are getting excited. We were making plans last night when I saw her at work. It was her night to work security at our store for the Police Department. Well the hour is getting late. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.!

Relaxing and Planning

Well I guess everyone has started to pack for the weekend crop coming up in a little over one month. Della and Alice have started and I have gotten a list together of what I need to double check for before I leave on the 20th. I think I will probably pack most of my stuff on the 28th of February. That way it is out of the way for the party on the 1st, and ready to go for the crop. I will keep out the things I need to have for the Creative journal Challenge on Lifetime Moments. I am enjoying that challenge a great deal. It makes me think of things that I would never have thought to ponder on and write about. Well I am off of here for awhile. I have a few things to take care of before DH comes home. Have a great evening.

UK Scrappers

Ok thanks to a link in Chris Durnan's Visual Designs Forum I found this awesome site. Wow are the ladies on here talented, and do they look like they have a lot of fun. I can't wait to get into it more as time goes by. I would love to join their cyber crops. They look like they are a lot of fun, and the projects are amazing. The link to the site is in my side bar if anyone is interested. Have a good rest of the evening. I will post more layouts later this week. I am currently working on my Febraury project for Chris's DT. I should have it done tomorrow if the daughter and grand daughter cooperate and entertain eachother.

Still Scrapping, but need a break.

Well I have reached the 200 mark on Winter Scrapfest for February. That is all I need to get the discount code and entered into the price drawings. I am going to focus more this month and part of next month on m photography. I want a wide variety of things to scrap when I go to the retreat in a month. I am hoping to get a lot of good pics from the birthday party and a few other things before I place an order for a ton of pics at Dotphoto.com. I want to have a nice range of things to scrap to keep my attention on scrapping and be productive. I need to finish the layout I am working on today and then I will post it for points. I have one other layout that I need to design and work on for my DT project for Chris Durnan. I have an idea of what I want to do I just need to find the perfect picture. Well off I go. Have a good weekend!!

February Sketch Challenge Visual Designs By Chris

Ok here is my entry for the February Sketch Challenge at the forums for Chris Durnan. I love this sketch, and the files that came with it. I used the journaling box cutter file and then the accompaning pen tool file for the lines. It was a breeze to set up, and cut on the Silhouette, and the layout just came together so easily for me this morning. The lettering for the title are using the Curlz font and Smokey Quartz Gemstone Glitter from Martha Stewart. The Tiara is from Magistical Memories and the Patterend Paper is from My Mind's Eye. The cardstock is Bazzil Basics. The flower embellishment is from Petaloo. I used Snow Angel and Autumn Leaves Glimmer Mist to give the flowers a bit of shimmer. I used a lighter to achieve the unique distressing on the top half of the large piece of Patterened Paper.

Scrappin today!

Well today was my day to start scrapping again. I am trying to get to at least 200 points for winter scrapfest this month. I am at about 100 or so, so I am actually doing good. I got three layouts done today. One was for the Creative journal challenge and one was of Allie's christmas play and the other was of Chloe talking on the cell phone that she so loves to do. I am planning on working on the February Sketch Challenge from Chris Durnan's Design Forum tomorrow. She has some really cool files in there. I can't wait to give it a try.
The Scrapping Retreat in March is getting here, but it is getting here slowly. I am getting more excited day by day. Amy and I are supposed to get together on Friday so she can look through all of her stuff and see what she still needs. She will be making a list and going back up to Archivers again to get the rest of her things that she will need. She wants to go through my things and see what she can use from there to suppliment what she has for her projects that she has in mind. Well my stepson and his fiance and the grand baby are here , so I am going to get off of here and talk to them. You have a wonderful evening everyone!

Newbie Shopping Trip!

Well today I went to Archiver's with Amy. She has very little scrap supplies and is going to attend the weekend scrap retreat in March with me. So we got together and headed to Archiver's. We had a late lunch at Olive Garden and then headed to the store. We were in there for about 2 hours just looking at everything. I walked out of there spending more then I had planned, but I bought Allie some supplies and I also got a replacement blade for the Silhouette which was almost 50 dollars. I bought some Halloween decor projects as well that were half off and I had been eyeballing in the magazines last Fall. I started the project, and it is coming along nicely. It is a banner/garland type thing that says All Hallows Eve and come with everything you need to decorate and assemble, but I am adding more embellies and going to town on altering the pieces. I will post pictures when I get it done. I am going to work on it for a few days and take my time so it is exactly how I want it. Well I am going to say good-bye for now. I am downloading the new software for the Silhouette which will allow me to make mats and other things that the old software couldn't do. Have a good rest of the weekend.!

Retreat News Update!

Well I am officially going on the retreat. There was enough room for me to get a spot, and last evening Officer Amy who is a good friend of mine contacted Donna as well and she has her spot reserved too. This will be a blast. I have got an idea of everything I am taking, and where I am putting everything. I should have it narrowed down to 4-5 bags, depending on how much paper I decide to take. Amy and I are planning a trip to Archivers this Saturday after I get rid of the grand baby and my daughter. I need to get a list together of things that I "NEED" to purchase. I need to stock up on adhesive and cardstock, and I am looking to get some new patterend paper collections. DH found a bag for me to carry the Silhouette in and it will also hold my minimal clothing needs that I am taking. Amy and I are planning to head down early and stop and some shops before meeting up with Della, Alice and Becky for dinner and then check in at the hotel. There is also a cemetary down there that Amy and I are thinking of looking into visiting. I have never taken photographs at a cemetary and I would love to give it a go. The retreat is locate din Berlin, and there are plenty of tiny little shops to visit. I am going to love this, and there my even be a scrapbook shop or two down there as well. I will update more when I learn more. Have a good day!

Scrapping Retreat!!

Well I have never gone anywhere for an extended crop. Most times it is just to a friends house for a few hours or the local scrapbook store, but this year in March I am heading to Amish Country for an entire weekend of scrapping and relaxation. Della from work wanted to go but someone canceled and she didn't want to spend the money to go alone, so I asked her if it would be ok if I went in the ladies place, and she was exstatic!! Her?! I was overjoyed. An entire weekend to scrap and create. No kids, chores, cooking, laundry, nothing, just me and a group of ladies doing what we love. Ok so now that I am planning on going and DH said he didn't care, and I made arrangements for Allie for the weekend of the crop, the hard part is before me. I haven't left my house to scrap anywhere in about 4 years, so what do I do. Luckily I bought a new tote about 2 years ago, and it was just being used for scrap paper storage, so I just had to clean it out. That was easy. But still the hard part is ahead of me. I have to make an entire scraproom fit into a rolling tote. Ok not all of the stuff is necessary, but since I am not sure if I will have time to plan any layouts ahead of time, and actually I stopped planning layouts several months ago, and I just wander around my scraproom throwing whatever catches my eye onto a layout. This could be a problem for me. I have to condense everything into one bag with a tool tote. So today, yes I know the retreat isn't until the 20th of March, I began to plan what I would do with my embellies. I took a tackle box type container that has several compartments in it, and some very tiny baggies, and I began to fill the baggies with individual colors, and styles. I have baggies for each color of brads, and then one of the same color for eyelets, snaps, anchors, etc. Those wnet into the compartments in the box. Then I filled up several prima jars of buttons and primas. This way I have a wide variey of embellies. I am also taking a baggie full of various ribbons. I can still use these to scrap, but they are packed, and give me an idea of how much room I have for my Silhouette and my paper and cardstock. Yes I am taking my Silhouette and laptop. I rarely if ever create a layout that doesn't use the cutter. So I think I have an idea of how to transport my embellies and how much room it will take up in my tote, but I still have to figure out what I am going to do with my cardstock. I have a creative memories back that I can take my pp in, but my cardstock is in iris carts. So do I combine the CS into one container and see ifit will fit into my tote, or do I try and narrow my cs choices down. I would jsut hate to be at the crop and not have access to cs that I need. I know the hostess sells creative memories supplies, and she will have that there for purchase if needed, but I am picky about the CS and PP that I use. I try to only use textured cs such as DCWV or Bazzill. So I have a few more things to work on to get ready. I am trying to limit my baggage to one tote, one tool tote, one paper carrier, and the laptop case. Wish me luck ladies!

Still Scrapping Away!

I spent the weekend working on my newest layout. It is titled Snow In Love. It isn' quite done yet. I am waiting for the letters to dry. I sprayed them with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist. I want that to dry really good before I adhere them to the layout. Allie's Invites are done. I will photograph those and upload a picture tomorrow. Right now I am relaxing and discussing parties and weddings with my DH. We have a very busy first half of 2009. Lucky us. I will have alot to scrapbook though. Well I am off of here. I need to finish working on dinner. I have to work tonight so if I want to eat before I go in I need to make dinner and have it ready before I leave for work at 3:30. Have a nice day, and I will post the pictures asap!

On To Another Project!

Well I am starting Allie's Birthday Invites. She wants to have a Orca birthday party. I have the cards cut and I have the Orcas cut out, and I just need to get them glittered and mounted on the cards. I will have to post a picture of it when I get done. I am hoping to start those tomorrow. Today I am resting my ankle. Lucky me I I twisted my ankle while shoveling snow this morning so I could put Allie on the van. It is swelling up and quite tender to the touch. I am trying to stay off of it ans stay warm at the same time. Dean had to work today. The weather is crummy and it is quite cold out there. I am snuggled up on the couch with my cat watching Bones. I am ordering pizza tonight for dinner and I am going to relax the rest of the day. Well that is it for now. I will post the invite pics as soon as possible. Have a good weekend!

Finally Done!

Well the Valentine Cards for DD's class are finally done. I have them all assembled and in their envelopes. I am just hoping I don't have to make anymore. I loved to do them, but I was anxious to get them done and out of the way so I can focus on other things. Allie went to my parents' house today so I was able to get things done. I would have loved to get more done, but oh well. Perhaps I can work on some things in the morning when I get up. I want to work more on my scrap room organization. I have it pretty much to where I want it to be, but I would love to alter a few things for that room. I would like to alter my grandpa's embellishment containers and then do something cute with the new wire rack that my DH got for me to put my idea books and magazines on. Nothing special just perhaps some ribbon etc to get it to look more decorative. I need to find something to place on each shelf so the flimsier magazines do not fall through the racking. He was getting ready to toss it out at work last week when he thought of me and decided to bring it home and see if I would have any use for it in my scraproom. I sat up that night thinking of ideas and the idea book rack hit me. I got up the next morning and had it done in no time. I love it, and it fits perfectly in my room. I now have more room in the cupboards to put other things in that are not scrap related. Well I will think on it for awhile till I see if I can do anything to alter it. If not it will remain the way it is, and if I do alter it I will post a picture of it when I am done.

V-day card and a Layout

Well I finally got one v-day card done for DD's class party. I am not sure how many I have to make but I have enough frogs done and embellished for 10. She has a very small class as she is autistic and is in a special ed class for most of her day. I also managed to get a layout done of a picture of DD from probably 4 years ago. She is sitting by our pond at the house that we used to live in. She loved to sit there and watch for her fish to appear so she could say Hi to them. I printed it out on Bazzil textured cardstock after using Photoshop to change the color to one called Nostalgia which gives the photos an old fashioned tinting. The patterened paper that was used on the layout is the Blush Collection by Basic Grey with Flowers from Petaloo enhanced with Jasper and Rose Quarz Glitter from the Martha Stewart Gemstone Collection.

Back At It Today!

Well today I decided to get going on those Valentine's Cards for my daughter's class. They are files that I received from The Wishblading Well. They are V-day cards and Envelopes. I love the set. They work so well together. I will post a picture as soon as possible of the finished card and envelope. They will have frogs on them. I made them red eyed tree frogs covered in glitter. The glitter is primarily Gemstone Collection from Martha Stewart and Stickels from Ranger Industries. They both work perfectly on the die cuts that were made using my Quickutz Digital Cutter called the Silhouette. If you have a chance, purchasing one of these little babies is worth the price, and I have gotten my money's worth out of it since I purchased it in July of 2007. Told my husband that I would love to get a back up since they are being sold so cheap right now, but I may wait until a larger format one comes out, or save up my money and buy a cutter that will do the 12x12 paper. Well off I go. I need to get some of the cards and envelopes cut and then perhaps I can assemble a few tomorrow if the paper and glue is dry. I do so need to get on the two swaps that I am participating in over at Scrapbook.com. They are altered trading cards. One is about fairies and the other is about Twilight the books and movies. I am hoping that I can do these. I may have to back out of them at this point since I have way too much on my plate right now to do a very good job on these. I am also participating in Winter Scrapfest on LifetimeMoments.com and I am focusing mainly on that with my DT responsiblilites for Visual Designs By Chris being incorporated into that. Well wish me luck. I am going to need it!!
